Police Arrest Three Men Over Alleged Murder Of 74-Year-Old Woman In Ekiti » Gisthour
The Police Command in Ekiti State stated it arrested three males over the alleged homicide of a 74-year-old lady.
The defendants – Alex Peter, 25; Adeniyi Tosin, 25; and Adelola Adedapo, 23– had been on Monday arraigned in an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court and are dealing with a two-count cost of conspiracy to homicide and homicide.
The prosecutor, Insp Caleb Leramo, advised the courtroom that the defendants dedicated the offence on May 29 in Ikere-Ekiti.
Leramo alleged that the defendants conspired amongst themselves and murdered the 74-year-old lady, Arannilewa Abiodun, and thereafter disposed her physique in a canal close to her home.
Leramo stated the offences contravened Sections 324 and 319 (1) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
He urged the courtroom to remand the defendants within the Correctional Centre, pending receipt of authorized recommendation from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution.However, the Chief Magistrate, Mr Abdulhamid Lawal, in his ruling ordered that the defendants be remanded on the Correctional Centre pending issuance of authorized recommendation.
Lawal who didn’t take the pleas of the defendants additionally adjourned the case until July 22 for point out, NAN studies.
